I have a situation here that i need advise on i purchased a dbl het albino/stripe breeder male from a very well known breeder back at the end of feb i receieved the animals on march 2 the animal went out of the box and right into a brand new cage and into quarenteen i practice strict quarenteen procedures well 3 weeks ago i notice that the animal was acting funny looking straight up (star gazeing) when i pull him out of his cage he starts cork screwing so i email this breeder and i explain to him everything i have explained here he basicly tells me that his garuntee is 7 days . now i explain that the animal is showing classic symtoms of idb and we all know the lengnth of time it takes symptoms to show i told him i understand his 7 day garuntee and that i am willing to send this animal back to him and would be willing to settle for him to split the losses with me. am i wrong to expect some sort of compisation? also if anyone wants to know this dealers name email me and i will be glad to share

It will be tough to show enough proof that the animal did not come into contact with anything in your personal collection thus possibly being infected that way (and that is even if the animal does have IBD). I personally doubt that any compensation will be given even though imo it should be. 4 months is quite awhile to have an issue arrise in and try to get a refund of any sort.

I would remain keeping him in isolation and also check with your local vets to see if they have the capability to do a biopsy on your boas liver. (they can do a test on live boas looking for IBD) even though it could be costly it would be nice to know for sure if that is the case with your boa. Also if the test came back positive you would have a vets diagnosis showing what the illness is that you can approach the seller with.

Good luck
