I fed my het albino a mouse yesterday. Right before he began to swallow the mouse, he started to shake and it looked like he was seizuring, and he eventually swallowed the mouse. Has anyone seen this before. Any insight on this?
Thanks,
Dave.

Has it recently had a mite treatment. Sometimes those sprays can cause seizures, but usually clears up.
I dont know how intense the shaking was but i know sometimes a snake will shake when it lifts the mouse or other food item off the ground because of the weight. Sort of like if you lifted something very heavy you might shake a little under the weight. I dont know exactly what your snake was doing though so this is only a guess. If it was a true seizure then I would say i am totally wrong.
I've seen snakes' heads shake a little bit when they are getting ready to eat too, but it doesn't seem to be anything to worry about. Maybe they are really excited about eating, or maybe their neck muscles get tired from constricting? Who knows? As long as it's just the same kind of little shake I'm thinking of (they're not writhing around or anything, just shaking a bit when holding their heads up to look around for the food), I think it should be fine. I don't know if I explained what I'm talking about well enough to make any sense... sorry!
