laying infertile eggs

khaeos Jun 25, 2004 03:31 PM

I was wondering when a female would generally begin producing infertile eggs? I have one female who is getting close to a year old, and she's been fattening up a /lot/ lately. She seems kind of restless, too. It's probably just her being antsy because it's breeding season as well as my growing paranoia, but I don't want to take any chances. I've heard all of the horror stories of females finally dropping their eggs and dying soon after. Just want to make sure when I should start putting out her egg-laying box. x.x;

Thanks!

most females will not lay eggs until they are placed with a male. those that do lay infertile eggs without the presence of a male can start at anytime and can lay one or several clutches a year. there is no hard fast rule.

Ah! Okay.
I never hear much about the infertile egg topic, except for the common 'my beardie laid a squishy thing, what do I do?' posts.

Thanks for the clarification. :3
