Identify this gecko

CokeOfMan Jun 25, 2004 06:04 PM

I bought this gecko a couple of years ago beeing told it was a "Hemidactylus Mabouia". I sold this gecko a while ago.
Just to be sure, I'd like to know if it was a "Hemidactylus Mabouia", cause I'm not sure, I've seen pictures of the same gecko looking very different, and some looking similiar.
From above:

Sry for the blurry pic. It was take through the glass of the tank.

Definitely not H. mabouia. I believe that is a Mediterranean Gecko (H. turcicus). There's another similar bumpy sp that i can't remember. Definitely a sp of Hemidactylus though.

I'm thinking of maybe buying a breeding stock of some Housegecko species. Can't really find any good info.
Thanks for the reply.

Look at its toes, no toepads!
So it can´t be Hemidactylus.
Not easy fromn those pics, but obviously a Cyrtopodion species.
Most likely a C. scaber.

Hope that helps

I bought it at a petstore. They had to order one, they didn't have it in the store. Don't know how they could have labeled it so wrong.
