apricot pueblan not eating

llamak Jun 25, 2004 10:38 PM

I've had my pueblan since october, and he's always been a great feeder (2 or 3 pinks every 2-4 days). I recently went away for 2 weeks and had my friend take care of him. I know he received good care while he was at my friend's house. He ate once since I got him back (on June 15), but since then he has refused 3 feedings of brained pinks. He shed just before his last meal. The temperature of his enclosure hasn't changed (possibly within a few degrees, but nothing drastic). I don't think it's the stress from being moved as he's used to moving with me from my dorm to my parent's house. I'm starting to get worried....any suggestions?
thanks

2-3 pinkies every 2-4 days is to much. could be he/she is just not hungry. general rule of thumb is to feed appropiate size meal every 7-10 days. if you've had him since Oct then he should be big enough to be eating fuzzies.
stress of the move could also be a factor. even though you think it doesn't effect him it does in some way. Milks are nervous, esp babies.
I wouldn't worry about him not eating just yet. My tangering honduran will go 2 weeks sometimes, esp when he is going to shed. Just my thoughts on the matter.......

It's been 2 weeks now, and he's still not eating. He's never gone more than 5 days without food, so i'm really starting to worry. Also, his poop is really light tan, and smells much worse than anything that's ever come out of him before. Should I just give him more time? Is there anything I can do to encourage him to eat?
