this is my first snake...i just recently set up his aquarium with a hollow log, water bowl, and a branch. the temp inside ranges from 90 (basking area) to 84 (other side of tank). i tried the paper bag trick with a pinky mouse but it wouldnt eat it. i know my snake has to get comfortable with its surroundings. but how long should i wait until i start to feed it, what should i feed it and how should i feed it?

im really clueless about what to do...any help would be appreciated

A pinky mouse is too small, most balls will just ignore it. Most baby balls start feeding on live hopper mice. Your snake will need to be watched when you feed it hoppers. If it doesn't eat it in 5 minutes remove it because an unattended hopper mouse will chew on a snake and injure it. If that doesn't work I recomend you do a search on this forum for feeding problems. This is a common problem with balls. I also would buy the Ball Python Manual by Phillipe de Vosjoli. It has lots of tricks for getting balls to feed. Good luck.
