Will young Aussie water dragons take to non-living animal based foods? I ask because insects can be such a pain to deal with. Would they eat a homemade mixture of ground turkey, fruit and suppliments as my tegu does? I see photos of older animals eating mice. Are they pre-killed mice? I order frozen mice. I've kiiled 1,000's myself but now find the frozen cheaper and easier.

If you want a simple yes or no answer to the question of prepared foods, I would say no. I have four aussies and not one of them have ever eaten any fruits or vegetables, and I have offered many different kinds many different times.
I never offered my aussies dead mice. However, I believe my animals are stimulated by the movements of the hoppers. Superworms and nightcrawlers are a big part of my aussies diets, which are much less of a pain than crickets. Then again, crickets are a staple in my animals' diets.

my water dragon wont eat mice! it loves veggies and crickets.
i recoment u by some beareded dragon pallets ( i was told this by the pet store owner, he has been keeping reptiles for years) and mix in veggies with it. the pallets contain lots of goodies ( cant be bothered typing out all the stuff that it contains)
i dont useally feed her crickets , but now ive learnt how to breed them and im goign to start it on a daily basis.

Mine eat frozen rat pinkies, quail, mice, nightcrawlers,superworms,crickets and basically any type of worms....but nightcrawlers and rats are their two favorites.

they are both gluttons, lol
