Hypo BRB, a comparison pic

herpconsultants2 Jun 20, 2003 07:06 AM

Snapped this one last night when the hypo's are really light. You get a better idea of what she looks like when she's compared with this orange female. Fingers crossed for next year!

I see the difference in the animals and that is a unique-looking boa but I have a question. What is it you are hoping to see in the babies? Do you expect that they will be more faded, more colorful?

I'm not into BRBs myself but I see very many that are shockingly beautiful, especially the bright red and red/orange ones. I would not know the reason for trying to make faded ones unless there was some long-term product you envision.

Thanks for any info..

Well, if the hypo pair I have is genetic, the babies will be the same as their parents, or maybe lighter. Who knows. They're just something a little different, representative of the natural phenotypes present in all species.

Long term we'll cross them with our anerythristics, and hopefully prove both mutations are 'true.' Now I'm not a big morph fan, like I said, I just find it an interesting little project. The hypo's are so unusual when you see them in the flesh.

Oh, and yes, that orange female is something special! I think she's spectacular.

Very nice. I don't care all that much for the 'hypos'. That orange boa looks great though. I love the 'wild types'. I might have to get another one of those in the future...
Nice boas.
