The First Ones are Out!!!

John Q Jun 26, 2004 09:55 AM

The first 4 New Mexico Milks are out of the egg. One more to go and that should happen within the next 24 hours. I couldn't be happier with this years hatchlings. I think they are really clean. The trio I breed consist of above average females and a male that is, well, kind of butt ugly. Not really that bad but he does have a lot of crossovers. Whenever I've offered the hatchlings I've stated that no hatchling has ever looked like the male. This years are even cleaner than the females. I rinsed off the vermiculite but they have not shed, just a little dull.
Let me know what you think.

Those are sweet, John. The colors are clean, like you said. Your "butt-ugly" male is a good genetic matchup for you female. And this reminds me of the time I was eating in a Chinese restaurant and an ugly white guy came in with his ugly Chinese wife. They sat right next to me and my friends. They had a pre-pubescent son and a teenaged daughter that looked like they could be future movie stars. I just couldn't believe it. Genetics is amazing, ain't it?
