The Nic Hypos are quite common as imports and have only recently been reconized for what they were. I believe it was Jonathan Brady that did much of the first breedings with them to prove that they are indeed genetic Hypos. Also the Salmon/Hypo was a central American Boa for the get go. I don't know if the original origin is know (Rich) would have much more info on that. Last I priced out the Hypo Nics, they were $250.00-$350.00 not 3-4K!!! Check with Ben Seagel I think he was keeping a coloection of them.

I'll have to check with Ben Siegel,i just figured if he had any they would be advertised,But you never know.I just wondered on the availabilaty because i never see any advertised in the classified's on kingsnake, and the only price i seen quoted like i said was $3 K plus and that was on the web-site of the Author'of the Mini Boa's Article in April 2004 Reptile's Magazine,Ya i like the Salmon Line Boa's i read the History on them, off of there web-site and there Article by Rich Ihle in Reptile's Magazine December 2002,I got 3.3 Nic's from Ben Siegel in May and i really like em.And now i see i can get Nic. Hypo's ,for a reasonable price my search will be on ! !Thank's Again Hoppy !

Captive bred second generation hypo x hypo Nic. It is much cheaper to buy farm raised from individuals like M n R reptiles or Ben Siegel, however be prepared to wait a long time. I believe that Nics will become more and more popular as time goes on. Here is a pic of mine. The male in the middle came from Ben Siegel, the female was bought locally. I just love their colors.

Kenneth, One reason you are not seeing as many Nicaraguan morphs such as hypos come into the country is because the Japanese have buyers down there. What few do make it to the U.S. are being quickly bought up by some of the larger breeders. The price has gone up a little for a hypo male. I recently saw one for $400. It sold right away. It is very rare to see a female for sale. From now through July many Nicaraguan boas will be imported. Try Ben or some of the other importers in Florida and you might get lucky. If not, I am sure you will see some more captive born in the U.S. soon. I also thought it was Bryant King who first proved them out. I have one of the baby hypos he first produced. I hope this helps.
