NEW LEO. NEED URGENT HELP!!!

gavinclews Jun 26, 2004 12:49 PM

Hi everyone. I recently saved a leo that someone didnt want and it seems i got there just in time. To start with, it wont eat anything but waxworms. It is turning its nose up to everything but i have managed to get it to eat a couple of those But i know that it cant really just live on that. What is the temp the tank needs to be as he might have been kept too cold as a guess. It seems also to be dehydrated. What shall i do about that. if someone could give me the exact setup guide to start with then we shall work from there. Thanx everyone

You are right that he cannot stay on wax worms. They are not nutritious enough and too fattening to be a staple diet. Have you tried crickets and mealworms?? About how old is the gecko do you know?? How big is the tail?? Let a couple of crickets run around the cage for a couple of hours and maybe he will eat it. Temps should be in the high 80's to lower 90's in the day and high 70's to lower 80's at night. Maybe if he warms up he will eat. What is the setup like right now?? Best of luck. And keep us posted.
