I need professional help!

Wow, that title can be taken the wrong way...but what I really ment was, hey pro breeders, help me out with this question! The professional help I'll look into later....

I had 50 eggs in my incubator. I had two trays of about 25 eggs. One tray was lookin' great, the other got some fungus on it. So, I used some desenex to help try and get rid of it, and it pretty much turned all my eggs black. (the fungus, not the foot powder) They are gone now, no doubt. I'm down to 29 eggs. Here's the one question. Why would fungus do that, and how can I avoid that in the future? I'm really hoping that the rest of the eggs live.

Another question. Today I replaced all the vermiculite. I opened the incubator and transfered all the eggs to brand new, non-infected vermiculite, and my question is, is it ok to move eggs like that, as long as you keep them pointing up the whole time? I know you can't turn eggs, but how far into the incubation period is it bad to move the eggs?

And one last question. I had two "cornsnakes" I mated together, but here's my problem. One was a creamcicle, so obviously not a pure corn. The other looks like an anery, but not all the way. I know she's not ghost, cause she lives with another female ghost. But, is there a rat snake out there that looks like an anery? Reason why I'm asking is because the eggs from this mating are considerably bigger than the eggs I've seen in the past and the eggs I currently have from other pure corn snakes.

Ok, I know, lots of questions, but if anyone out there can help, I'd greatly appreciate it! I posted a question a while back about candling, and how late in term you can do that, but got no response. Help!

What sort of desenex did you use? spray? powder? What have you done with the "black" eggs?

The reason I ask this stems from my own experiences this year. I had a lot of mold issues and used some foot powder applied with a makeup brush. I had an entire clutch of 15 kingsnake eggs go bad.... they started to sweat, then to seep, then to turn all colors of the rainbow. After they were all CERTAINLY dead ... shriveled, etc., me and the kids opened them.... seemed like they died shortly after being laid, only tiny embryos in each one. BUT I also had other eggs that got moldy and were treated, and look fine. Some have a bit of a crusty moldy shell in places still, but seem to be in general doing okay. One egg is half black but I still think it might hatch out a live baby. The only reason I gave up on the one clutch of 15 eggs was that they started to squirm with maggots.

I moved all my eggs to new substrate when I started to have problems in hopes of curbing a lot of my problems... in a couple of weeks I can tell you if that was a good move or not. If they hatch fine, I'll say it was a good move, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it in general.

When I got some black ratsnakes I also got an Anery and a Ghost cornsnake from the same breeder, took me quite a bit of effort to figure out which ones were the ratsnakes which was the Anery! they looked identical as babies. As adults, of course, the black ratsnake would be closer to black. I think you are describing an Emoryi, which would be what is in a creamsicle to begin with. I would call those babies creamsicles.
