Question about how to setup heat pad on Vision Cage for Boa

tigerhou21 Jun 27, 2004 02:59 AM

I believe lots of people use Vision Cages to keep their Boa. I am thinking to get some Vision Cages. But I donˇ¦t know what is a good idea to setup under tank heat pad and Temperature Controller. The main problem is how to place the probe? Because if I place the probe inside the tank, the boa will move it anytime. So does anyone can tell me how to do it and if you have picture to show it, that would be great.
Thanks.

Eric

I use all visions, I get the larger models that have the drop down lamp. I please heat tape on a dimmer under the bottom unit. The bottom unit I build a base out of 2x4 and plywood so its not sitting directly on the floor and place its either 12 or 18 inch heat tape under the hot side the rest I use ceramic heat bulbs in the drop down fixtures and place them on dimmers as well. Then maintain the room temp. I use the 432 models 54inchx36x18 high. contact Russ at rlreptiles.com he can get ya squared away set up properly. Only thing is if you stack visions 3 or 4 high dont use regular light bulbs thats the only downfall to visions is you have to move the whole stack if the bottom bulb goes.
