Question about how to setup heat pad on Vision Cage for Boa

tigerhou21 Jun 27, 2004 04:51 AM

I believe lots of people use Vision Cages to keep their Boa. I am thinking to get some Vision Cages. But I donˇ¦t know what is a good idea to setup under tank heat pad and Temperature Controller. The main problem is how to place the probe? Because if I place the probe inside the tank, the boa will move it anytime. So does anyone can tell me how to do it and if you have picture to show it, that would be great.
Thanks.

Eric

You raise the cage up on something to support it - could be particle board, styrene foam, an exercise mat, tile, etc - and make a cut out to place the heat pad under the cage with the probe attached.

If I was keeping a boa in a Vision (and I am) I would use a heat panel or heat lamps and just have the heat pad if needed on a dimmer.

One heat pad can't heat a larger boa in winter, unless your room is warm. And if your room is warm, a simple dimmer on the heat pad will suffice. But, concenrate on a heat panel of bulbs and hang the probe in the cage.
