I bought play sand to put in my beardies cage, on the bag it says it is sterelized and sifted. is that the stuff i need??

Yeah it sounds like you got the right stuff, and like Sean told you wash and sift it once more to be on the safe side.
For future reference, it sometimes take a day or two to get a few responses to questions around here. People check once or twice a day to answer questions, but I doubt anyone is here 24/7, and you're rarely gonna get multiple answers in a matter of minutes. Be patient though and people here are glad to help.
