Quick Question about temps...

Karu Jun 27, 2004 02:01 PM

Wouldn't it stand to reason that a Saharan Uromastyx would do perfectly fine if the temps dropped to the 50'sºF or so at night? Seeing as how their native desert drops to less than that at night?

Your Saharan would burrow in a "natural" setting, using the earth to regulate temperatures. During the day, the uro could enter the burrow to lower temps. At night, to raise temps. If it were to drop to 50 degrees outside, it would probably still be 65 in the burrow. So my non-expert opinion would be that, no, it's not a good idea to let the cage drop to that temperature on a regular basis.

Oh, it never goes that low. It was just something I was wondering about.
