Kafiau Island Boas - Loads of Piccies

SandBoaUK Jun 27, 2004 05:16 PM

Kafiau is a small island near Halmahera. Little collecting has been done from this location, but it seems as if there is some awesome wildlife inhabiting the island.

I have managed to get these guys. Candoia carinata carinata.

I do not particularly like to give 'morph' names to such animals. They are all wild caught, and from this particular island, the colour and pattern variation is awesome. However, for the simpleness of knowing 'whats what', I have given names to the different coloured / patterned animals I have.

'Leopard':

'Striped':

'Chocolate Striped':

Hope you like.

Awesome.....
Have you seen any coloured ones...i think that these are much like the Waigeo locality since Kafiau should be somewhere between Waigeo and Sorong.
Thanks for sharing,
Fredrik

In what way do you mean coloured? All these are various patterns and colours.

I am not familiar with the Waigeo island form, although I remember seeing a couple of photos of some animals which I believe Ben Siegel had??
