~Question About Eating Problem, Please Help!!~

lil_frogger2 Jun 27, 2004 07:40 PM

On an earlier post I posted a question about size..the issue of how much my beardies eat came up in it. Well..ever since my lizard hurt her foot, i put he rin a "hospital tank" because sh ehas to have medication on it and stuff. Well..ever since then, the one that is in the original cage hasnt been eating that much.
On one of the posts it says how different beardies eat more in different situations..well, I put the beardie in the hosptial tank with the other, with some food, to see wat would happen. The beardie started to eat a little...but then loked at the othe rone and started wlaking towards it.
The hurt one backed away into the corner and started to wave her hand. Theyy're supposed ot be both females..but one seems afraid. The cause of the hurt foot is unkown..but I'm starting to think the other one bit it. I have no idea what to do...if i put them togetehr, one wil eat, but then the other one will get scared and stressed..and i cant do that to her everyday. If a beardie hurts another one, does the hurt one rememebr the other that hurt it? Is that why she's so afraid? Because they've been together since they were hatchlings.
Please Help, I'm out of Ideas and I have no idea what to do..if i cant figure this out I dont know whats going to happen to my beardie..she wont starve herself to death, will she?

If one hurt the other and is stressing the other one out it may get to a point where health is at risk. I'd keep them in seperate tanks and watch them closesly. Wait a few days for them to get used to being in a different environment and if they still won't eat double check all your husbandry(temps, etc) and go from there.

Good luck!!
