Question On Bulbs!

TheBigMacAttack Jun 27, 2004 08:33 PM

I have been looking at bulbs and fixes to buy on the internet.. and am wondering if the "ESU Reptile Heat/Light Reflector Dome with Ceramic Socket" come with a cord that plugs into the wall, i think they may as i dont see any "cords" for sell.

So like how far away from the animal should a 100 watt uva/uvb bulb be? what is the minimum distance?

Every fixture I have ever seen came with the cord attached. Assuming you are using a mercury vapor bulb, most have a 12-18 inch minimum distance.

If this is the case, then how can the animal get enough uvb in a larger cage?

Right, a mercury vapor bulb works up to 6 feet away.
