If my BD does ever get an impaction, whats the best thing to do for it?

warm soaks and gentle tummy rubs.....my bd once was impacted and i put him in the warm bath and rubbed his stamache and he passed it pretty quickly.....

how do u know for sure if they are impacted?

well i not an expert but if the stop poopin and they aren't eating then this is uaually a sign and then u can gently feel their bellies and feel for hard lumps that appear out of place.....other than this i don't know how to tell

sounds like ur going to be very well prepared...make sure u dry run his enclosure and get all his temps right and humidity and everything

Of course it goes without saying that if you suspect impaction and a warm soak does not help the lizard pass, a vet visit is quickly in order, as it can be fatal.

Good for you doing your research ahead of time. A very responsible thing to do. I wish more people would rather than buy first and ask later.

their back legs will go sraight back and they strain trying to poop (looks like a siesure). Don' confuse this with basking with their legs back. you should also make sure he basking spot is 110-115 to help digest the food.
