Do some research then come back with questions on info you can't find. BTW almost impossable to breed. I take that back, easy to breed they just never ovulate and produce eggs!

...at the link below. Plenty of pics to whet your appetite.
As far as info, there is some on there but we have just begun writing a paper on our experiences with the Moluccan python in captivity as well as their natural history. But it won't be done for a while yet.
Please feel free to email me with any other questions you may have about them. They are fantastic pythons!

Yes, I have been to your site a number of times. I have done every search. Little info out there. Do you know of any sucessful breedings. What would you guess average adult size to be. Are your xanthics true gentic xanthics or are most high yellows considered xanthic. Let me know when you have Bar Necks or any Scrubs available.

Mols naturally occur in two phases....xanthic and axanthic. These are not morphs as they are naturally occuring with regularity. There is no inbetween form.
We successfully reproduced this species back in 2002. We got a small clutch of eggs and only ended up hatching one xanthic baby. It was the only recorded successful reproduction of this species to date. We are just beginning to put together a paper on the Moluccan Python and our experience with this awesome species. It will hopefully be done in the next couple of months.
Also, we hatched a handful of barnecks a week or so ago but all are spoken for. Perhaps next year we'll get a couple of good clutches.

If you are asking about sizes of the two phases of Moluccans, they both grow to 7-14 feet with a majority of adult being between 8-10 feet.
But for the rest of the scrub complex, here's the breakdown.
Southerns: 10-15 feet, avg 11-12 feet
Barnecks:10-16 feet, avg 11-12 feet
Aru:6-8 feet, avg 7 feet
Wamena: 8-12 feet, avg unknown
Tanimbar:5-9 feet, avg 6-7 feet
Halmahera:8-11 feet, avg 9 feet
But I must clarify that Arus have not been reproduced in captivty and the offspring raised to see how large they truly can get. Not to mention, most specimens in captivity are not old enough to reflect a true adult size. Same goes for Wamenas but there have been a couple of 10 foot wamenas imported in the past so we know that much.
Halmas are so rare and so far have had such a poor record in captvity, we have much to learn still. But the group we used to work with were adults at 5-8 years of age and 7-9 feet in length. Some specimens in the last have been documented at 10 feet.
