near dixfield maine..thats central maine..loads of snappers there..i have to drive about 40 miles south of where i live to get into good snapper country...the trappers have taken so many in the past years...i believe snappers have young between the age of about 16 to 100...in that time they only replace themselves..so it's a real drag to see less big snappers knowing that the meat was eaten by people that just plain wanted to say they ate snapper meat..and how many people can one snapper feed???anyway...there are folks working hard on laws to keep them somewhat protected..in fact the best in our state is a girl from germany(and she's doing a great job)...i'm learning more and hope to make difference soon..thats why i got into this fourm...i think breeders as well as the field biologists have a lot of valuable info..billy
