Questions questions....

Ok here it goes, Ill try not to make it too long. First off with feeding. Like I said its a 3 week old yellow female, hasnt eaten once, and hasnt shed once. The guy I bought her from threw in a hopper but she just killed it. I do want to wait a few days before I feed her but the problem is I am leaving for the beach tomorrow and will be gone for about a week, I know my parents want nothing to do with it. Should i feed her tomorrow? I dont know if any of you keep burms but that is the snake I have who I can relate most to the conda. My young burm is a very aggresive feeder and will eat anytime food is offered excluding during a shed. How often do they generally eat? Will the yellow grow much fatter than the burm(my burms growing longer much quicker than fatter). Well thats my main concern right now, I think I have the emps and temp enclosure ok for now, I will post more in the morning.

I highly doubt it will get fatter than your burmese. Feeding I have seen vary from snake to snake with both yellow anaconda and burmese. But both do seem to be great feeders. I would feed and leave the room (get to ft asap and your life will be easier). You can feed whenever you want but leave the room and do not leave a live animal in there and go to the beach. I do not care if it is a fuzzy. You are in no hurry though..these things last forever without food.

Go to the beach, give your snake a good week or so to aclimate. No harm, anacondas are known for going months before eatting. Next question-A yellow anaconda is going to grow alot slower than a burm, mine is about 2.5years old and between 5-6 foot. Go buy standard feeding practices young every 5-7 days and adults every 7-10 days. I have all mine on a once a week feeding, its just easier that way. good luck with your new snake and keep us posted.
