Two males?

Tarzana Jun 28, 2004 10:59 AM

I was wondering if two male bearded dragons could be kept in the same enclosure? I am assuming not, just because of the nature of male reptiles in general. I was only asking, because no one has made a big deal about one male per enclosure. The other day I saw a picture that had two males laying in the same cage, and they were adults, so I'm just wondering for sure.

deff not! they are very territorial animals, and would land up fighting until one is either hurt or dead.

Thankyou, that is what I assumed, but I was just checking. If you don't want breeding then there is basically no way that you can keep a female in the same tank either right? I think this is why its always males that are for sale, because they need an enclosure all to themselves.

Yep, you've got it.

Females are really the only ones that can be kept safely in the same enclosure 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Even females will sometimes fight so even that isn't foolproof.
