wild breeding populations of frilled dragons in south florida!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

travisdank Jun 28, 2004 12:19 PM

I will be posting pictures as soon as i find the time to go back out there.

Anyway, my friend had been telling me about these lizards that run on their hind legs and have a large frill around their neck that they extend when his dogs corner them. He said they are every where and have been out there for more than 5 years.

Well i finally went to take a look for myself and there are frilled lizards EVERY WHERE around where he lives. I caught 12 in about 3 hours!

Just thought Id pass this on. I will not tell the exact locations but they are in the west palm beach part of the state.

Ill get some pictures up soon.

Thanks, Gary Crain

I believe it. Being born and raised in FL, I've seen quite a few exotics running around there. I've even come across a few adult burmese pythons. There are too many wild green iguanas to count and the knight anoles are everywhere. Also, I caught my Veiled Chameleon in FL. He was crossing the highway when I spotted him and took him home. Here's a pic of this beauty.

Best herping find I've ever had, lol.

I'd love to see wild Frilleds tho.

Are you insisting you would rather take a frilled dragon from the wild that has probably encountered parasites it would never encounter in the wild, and will be tremendously stressed out from being taken from what they think is home? Just buy one. They aren't that expensive and it's much less trouble, trust me.
