first time superworm breeder

Soulskater Jun 28, 2004 02:38 PM

I'm trying to breed superworms for the first time. I've read that they don't pupate unless you put them in seperate containers but I've also read that they will and seperating them is not necessary. Can someone clear this up for me?
Thanks

I just leave them in a 32 quart rubbermaid with layena and oatmeal. Oh, I also throw in potato and tomato for moisture.
I never mess with them, and when I see a black bettle I throw it out.

Yes, superworms have to be separated in order to pupate. Mealworms on the other hand just automatically pupate. I have a care sheet for superworms if you’re interested. Link below.

Great care sheet Cody. I have had them pupate in the same enclosure though, without ever having to move them. One of those weird things of nature I guess.

Thanks Greg.

I’ve never heard of them pupating w/ out being separated but like you said that’s nature.
