Long Tailed Grass Lizards (Taxydromus Sexlineatus) care

Hi everybody. I was wondering if you guys could help me. I need basic care info on the long tailed grass lizard. Also if possible could you give me some tips on how to deal with my parents. They don't want me to get another herp. My birthday is in about 2 weeks, I don't know if I can use that to my advantage. Thanks for any help you can provide. Joe
