Gut loading crickets with gerber baby food....Is this okay?

skmcwilliams Jun 28, 2004 03:39 PM

I have a 10 month old son who is eating all the flavor gerber jar foods, it always seems there is a little left over after each meal. I though it would be healthy for the crickets if I just put some on the lid and fed it to them. They went to eating it immediately. I first thought this would be a great source of nutrititon to the crickets who are quarter size and I'm feeding them to 3 week old babies. But then I got paranoid that there might be some chemical in the baby food that could hurt my beardies?

I use powdered baby cereal, along with other stuff, to gutload my crickets. I haven't had any problems and can't see why you would with baby food. I would still dust the crickets as this is still the best method of getting dragons to ingest vitamins or supplements.
