Hand feeding pacmans

reecefam Jun 28, 2004 05:52 PM

I have had my pacman almost 2 weeks and he finally ate a cricket just recently. I tried to hand feed him every day and he was not interested at all. Finally I left a cricket in there overnight and he ate it. When I got him he was sub-adult size and it was obvious that at this pet store they never hand fed him. So I was wondering if anybody else has had a similar experience with a pacman.

Normally i just drop its food right in front of the frog. And it gets eaten up immediately. Just like the sealion at the zoo. But sometimes when i am feeding frogs to my pacman, i try handfeeding too. i hold the frog by the legs, and just hang it right in front of the frog. Your pacman will take it. But i think it needs time to realise that your hand is of no threat to it. Right now i think it is still afriad of your hand. Give it some time by just dropping food in front of it, and lowering your hand before dropping. Just watch out for those fingers of yours.

I use froglets of the bullfrog. Because I stay in Singapore, I have them over here as they are used commonly as feeders. They can be bought in Singapore, and usually have 2 sizes. The small froglets that measure about 1cm, or the big ones which are about 2 inch in size.

Welcome. Singapore is a nice place to be in if you need feeders. We have almost all sorts of feeders here. Let me list some of them out just for the fun of it.

We use snakeheads, catfish, big bullfrogs, baby bullfrogs, mealworms, superworms, crickets, platies, goldfish, mosquito fish, tiger barbs, etc.
