Beardies come in all different colors and patterns. Normals are browns and dark earth tones, some light patches of white or off white. Some breeders give names to colors and patterns as a marketing tool. A red or orange Beardie may be called a Blood or my line, a Florida Orange. Colors include Snow/Grey, Red/Orange, Translucent, Albino, Citrus, Green, Yellow/Gold and various combinations.
if you do a search on the forum there are several threads about this including genotype and phenotype

I have no Idea. LOL
I am still really confused about mine.
I swear I have 2 dragons in one.
When I first got him he was almost black.
Due to stress.
Most of the time now he is normal with the orange colorations
around his eyes. But when I take him out in the
sun. Then pack him about he turns a really, really
light yellow with a hint of lilac on his back.
Since this is my very first Dragon I do not know if
this is a normal occurance or not.
I love it when he turns light. And would like to hear
from someone else if this is common.

when my beardie is out of the tank he definitely looks darker than when he is in the tank. He looks alot darker with brown in him when he is under my house lights. But in the cage and somewhat outside, he looks alot lighter ans his yellow shows more.
They turn light when they are warm and happy. When they are dark, they are trying to attract whatever light they can (just like when you wear a black tee shirt you are warmer), and it can also be a sign of illness or stress. My Dino turns a yellowish color with lavendar when he is outside, or under his MVB. If he is dark in his cage, then you might want to check the temp in his enclosure and possibly raise it. Also, when they are outside, they are in the natural sunlight, which is best for them, this is why he lightens up. It is very normal. Bright colors, or light colors means happy beardie (usually), dark colors means cold or possibly sick beardie.
