is there a link on this site where you can do a vet search for your area? i've gone in and out of each of the liks above, and have found nothing. maybe i've passed it up.

I posted it last week, it's way down the list now. It's www.herpvetconnection.com that you're looking for, I think. You can search by state, and all the veterinarians listed have been recommended by people who had good experiences with them.
