Striped Gray Banded King Snakes

ecreipeoj Jun 28, 2004 10:58 PM

I hatched out these two females last year from a wild caught pair.

Have any of you seen any Striped Gray Bands that look like these? I have seen some with the Orange colortion that is striped or zig-zagged, but these have a gray strip over a normal pattern.

Here is the second female.

Both of the parents did not have any striping, but were from the same local. The mother of these two girls died last year in hibernation, but the father is doing very well. Hopefully, I will breed these two females back to their father in 2005 and see if the striping is genetic and reproducable.

This trait does show up from time to time. I have seen it most frequently in the Black Gap local. In fact I have an F1 Gap blairs from Dan Johnson that has this look in every saddle. Nice looking snakes. What is the local of the parents?
