Fecal color

Hey I just have a quick question.
I got my first beardie a couple days ago from a local pet store. She is fairly active, she has a very healthy appetite for crickets and will occasionally eat some greens (She really liked to eat grass this morning).

But, I noticed that her fecal matter was white the last two times she went. Is this extremely abnormal? I cant seem to get her to drink any watter. She has a little water in a dish and I spray her at least twice a day, but she never drinks any that Ive seen. I did drop her crickets into her water bowl today and she ate them out of the water, so Im sure she lapped some up, but she hasnt gone since then yet.

Anything to pay attention to?

The white stuff is normal...it is urine (like bird-poo).

As for water, you can't make them drink. I haven't heard of many Beardies drinking from a bowl. Spraying them is the best way to get them to drink. (mine will open her mouth and let the spray hit her face. She will also drink from the tiny pools that gather on her log.

Maybe you need to spray more (not more often, more water.)
I TOTALLY drench my dragon, then she will start drinking. When she has had enough, she will turn away. I only spray once a day. You have to make sure the substrate can handle the water (wehatbran cannot!) You can even try a dropper on her nose or try giving her a bath (make sure to not fill more than to the shoulders.)

Once they get older (1 year), I just give a bath once per week (which is more water than they would get in the wild).

Ahh, OK

Ping-Pong doesnt seem to like being wet from the spray bottle. She shakes off like a dog sometimes and will never lick the water off of her mouth or nose. Ill try giving her a bath, but sh'e deff getting some water from eating the crickets out of her water bottle.

You don't have to wait until they are over a year old to give soaks.
Also, Rep-Cal pellets, when soaked are a great source of water!

Good luck.

that is perfectly normal. Bearded dragons do not urinate. instead they give off uraic acid in there stools. thats why there is always a peice of the stool that will be white. some dragons need more water than others. the ones that dont need as much water as the others get most of the water they need from the food they eat. there fore you may never see them drink water.
they may however be drinking when you arnt watching them. so dont take there water bowl away.
