Seeing Problem

shyguy4217 Jun 20, 2003 11:17 AM

It seems as though my leo is "blind" in one eye, she can never catch crickets because she can't aim towards the right spot. Also when I have food, for example mealworms, in my hands above the cage she will strike upwards as though she thinks she can get one, even though they are 2 feet away, like she has poor depth perception. So everytime I want to feed her I have to hand feed her. Does anyone else have this problem or know of anything that will help "cure" or make it better?

Thanx

I have a gecko that is like that too.
She is cross eyed but there really isnt anything to fix it. I just feed her mealworms in a dish so she rarely misses catching them cause they're so up close.

My male leo is kinda like that....he will aim at a mealie right in front of his face but will overshoot and has to try two or three times before getting it. That's why he is a wonderful feeder when it comes to using a bowl. He now eats 15 mealies every other night (what a pig) and is getting huge. Try using a small bowl and put 20 mealies in it....
I don't know why Pheonix (my leo) is like that....he just is.(*It might have to do with the fact that he is too lazy to actually stand up to hunt!!!*)

dido. my male is just like that. just make sure you dont feed her anything on sand, you dont want her to get a mouth full of substrate by accidet.

Sounds like my girl Cleo, she used to miss her crix by an inch. I hand feed her, but she'll occaisionally strike upward (I guess my finger makes a bigger target). She's over 7 now, and doesn't even recognize a "free" cricket as food
