Both parents are "albino" Why isn't the baby?

indus Jun 29, 2004 03:59 PM

The mom is a Tremper chocolate jungle albino (from vms herp)(I think her dad was a normal jungle)
the Dad is a Tremper giant yellow phase albino (from ron tremper)(I don't know much about his parents)

The baby came out looking like a normal jungle maybe, she has one stripe that is not broken on her body and two stripes on tail are broken (white line goes through them) and two are unbroken stripes does that make her jungle or just aberrant?

Do I have a chance of getting any albino babies out of these two parents or will all their babies be normals. I thought that breeding albino to albino would produce only albinos?????

What is the baby I have is she het. for albino, jungle, and giant, or only het for albino, or what???

Thanks ahead of time for any info or insight.

The only way it couldn't be albino is if the parents are two different strains of albino. So, one might not be a Tremper. Also, it might be albino, but just a dark one, so it is kinda hard to tell. What color are it's eyes and does it have black in it?? Can you post a picture?

Oh, and if it has broken tail bands and body bands, it is a jungle. If it has just broken body bands, it is an abberant.

She definately has black pigmentation to her and the eyes look black, I got the mom from VMS Herp she was advertised as a Tremper "Chocholate Jungle Albino", I requested a picture of her father and he looked like a normal jungle not albino. The male is a Yellow Phase Giant Albino purchased from ron tremper. so they are different phases Chocholate Jungle, and Yellow giant albinos.

What genes will the baby be het for there are a bunch in there
from the mom - albino and jungle
from the dad - albino and giant

I do not have a digital camera and cannot post a picture because of that. I could take a picture with film but that won't get developed for at least a few months.

If both parents are Tremper albinos, then all of their offspring should be Tremper albinos. So, if the hatchling is not an albino, then one of the parents is not a Tremper albino.

The easiest explanation is that a male other than the listed male managed to mate with the female. Next easiest is that one of the adults was mislabeled by the seller.
