Caleb's First Catch

alterna63 Jun 29, 2004 07:43 PM

My son Caleb wanted me to post his first wild caught snake ever when we were out looking for Alterna 3 weeks ago. He spotlighted this on a rock cut outside of Langtry. He kinda felt left out, and even though this is not an Alterna, he insisted seeing himself and his snake "Drawer" on the forum. Boy do they learn fast! Maybe we'll catch an Alterna next time Caleb.

LOL, thats great. Mine likes to go sometimes but she usually ends up falling asleep within 15 minutes. She still gets excited when dad finds a snake. Then she stays awake for another 15 minutes...

He is on his way to becoming a bonified herper. Glad your family is getting out. I have been heading north lately. Less crowd, more snakes if you know what I mean.

Hope all is well,

Steven Owens

Tell Caleb mr ed says "Job well done!" Tell Caleb's dad to stay home on the weekend and mow the grass before someone calls the civic association.

Hey Wayne,Congrats to Caleb on his first find. Maybe he will be lucky enough to find an alterna this year. Seems like everybody else has. Im still looking for mine, the Alterna gods have not seen fit to grant me one yet. Patience an Persistance!

Great picture Caleb.. and congrats!! What joy that must be for you Wayne, to sit back and watch your child develop a passion for these animals like we all did as kids.
Hope all of mine do the same......when I decide to have some

Yes, this is a lot of fun. It gets a little tough however when he gets bored and makes animal shadows on the rock cuts and the light strays off into the sky! It makes me wonder how many snakes in general we are missing as I am trying to look acorss the road and in front of the vehicle. His next snake must be an Alterna!!!!!!!!!!!!!
