The IVORY BALL

dumje Jun 29, 2004 08:00 PM

ok...time for a good argument or discussion.

I have heard and talked to a lot of respected people and they say that the Leomons produce the Ivory...in other words the Ivory is a super Lemon...I was begining to accept this until someone tells me recently it is not. So whats the deal...what do you people know or not know???????

Yellow belly/Lemon, I heard the same thing, but it's too big a secret for us to know. I'll be GD'ed if I pay 10K for an unproven morph!

The Sutherlands had a 'het' ivory ball recently listed for
sale. I'm sure that if someone was interested in paying the
$25k price that the Sutherlands would be more than happy to
explain the project to them.

Some of us have done our homework on this subject! The "lemons" were originally named lemons by Vin Russo who after breeding a pair of "lemons " together produced a true blue eyed Leucistic ball. The yellow belly is a different type of white snake , and has been rightfully called an "Ivory" because it is not a true Leucistic, but rather a very unique white ball that will create awesome animals in combination with the existing morphs! Some of us have taken the educated gamble on the yellow bellies, and we all have done so for reasons that the general public does not know about, and in the near future the whole story will be released. The Yellow Belly, Fire Ball, and Lemon are all PROVEN co-dominant (incomplete dominant) lines and each produce a different type of white snake, at this time most agree that all forms of white snakes are the "Super" or homozygeous dominant expression. The yellow belly Super will be produced (yellow belly's have already proved out to produce more yellow belly's when bred to anything) and when the Super is confirmed the market will leap vertically and those of us who took the expensive gamble will be happy with our educated gambling. This is what seperates the pros from the novices as the novices in general are NOT willing to take the risk , hence the reason that the breeders get a nice return on the risks they are willing to take, since it is always "unproven" in the begining...... I take my hat off to all the entrepreneur Ball Python breeders out there who do take the gamble as it is those people who uncover the latest , newest, morphs , the same animals that all you people are lined up to buy from the breeders!!!! I'm just waiting to see if yellow bellies and Lemons produce what they say they do. Lets hope so, but I wouldn't bet on it. It's one thing to buy from a proven line, but to pay 10K for an animal that has yet to produce a white snake is very risky (unless you have that much to flush anyway). I hope they all prove out, that would rock!
