Simple feeding question..

Cory21 Jun 29, 2004 11:09 PM

I currently have 2 baby veiled chameleons, both around three months old, and about 2.5".

Right now I am cup feeding, and placing 15 crickets per cup (1 cup in each enclosure). Both chameleons are eating all the crickets I put in there, is this too much? Or should I be feeding more?

Thanks,
Cory

As a rule of thumb for any growing baby reptile, I feed them as much as they will eat. They are at a stage in their life where they will reach there full size in about a year or less, and I like to give them all the nutrition I can. I personally don't worry too much about overfeeding when they're that young, except you don't want left over crix they're not eating running around at night in their cage.

How often should I dust the crickets while the chameleons are young? Everyday? or a few times a week?

Thanks again,
Cory
