Thank you to everyone that responded on my late Nyoka......

I really appreciate all the offered advice and condolences. Sometimes, it just helps knowing I'm NOT the only one something like this has happened to, and I'm not the only one that loves their animals like any other pet. ;D
Yes, it hurts tremendously right now, but I'm trying to focus on all the comical, sweet and fun times I had with Nyoka, rather than the cold hard fact that I no longer have him in this life.
It will take some time before that heartache goes away, but he will never be forgotten.

Biggest hugs and many thanks.

That would be a very hard thing to deal with. Last year, I was taking my male Argentine out of my females enclosure (breeding season), and she struck at me but hit the male. She got him good, right on the face....it's amazing she didn't take it off...she is about 8 feet and 25lbs...while he was only about 4.5 feet and 8lbs. Anyway...I know that doesn't help, but I know how I would have felt if things would have gotten worse.

Take care, Chris

Thanks Chris.
I'm feeling a bit better. I've started drawing again and I started doing that with his pictures (hopefully they'll prove I haven't lost my touch. heh)
I'm wanting to honor Nyoka's name over the next few years of getting a group of at least a male and a couple females that look just like him, to have my group of true columbian BCIs and all having that real circleback (more like a stripe with circles in it the way the saddles connect) and a "laddertail".
It's helping definitley to think of the good times we had with him and all the silly things he did to make us laugh.
Definitely a snake that will never be forgotten.

I was holding his would be future wife last night (yeah, all two feet of her 1.5 yr old self. LOL) and I missed him more then while looking at her. But I told her it would be alright (more telling myself than her).

Thanks again...I'll post some new pics up hopefully today...fixing to go get my dad's camera.

Hugs,

Amanda Rose

Amanda,
. I am sorry for your loss. Our friends who only keep cats and dogs have trouble understanding how we can become attached to our snakes just like we all become attached to our more traditional pets.
Jeff

I'm sure hopefully someday, there will be enough research and coverstories done about the wonders of reptiles and maybe, just maybe people will begin to understand these are wonderful animals too. ;D

Lots of hugs,

Although I did not reply, I am sorry for your loss. I lost my 15 yr old cat, and was kinda numb.

I know there were lots of people that read my post and didn't get to reply. Replying is not important...I was relieved to hear that I was not the only one this has happened but not happy about it nonetheless.
Just knowing here, I get to find more people who love their reptiles as much as their mammals, birds, fish, inverts, etc...
Most people who don't keep reptiles, just don't understand.

Hugs!
