I know zero about the genetics of chocolate.

I'm not clear as to the matings. A chocolate banana (male?) was mated to (how many) albino banana (females?). How many clutches? How many babies in each clutch were chocolate and how many were what other appearances? Were the albino bananas related?

Seems to me that you could get the same result as was posted here if chocolate is a recessive mutant. The albinos, or some of them, could be heterozygous chocolate. That would statistically produce 1/2 chocolate and 1/2 nonchocolate.

What happens when chocolate is mated with chocolate? Are all the babies chocolate, or are some normal?

Beat me into submission with data!

I bought a pair of Albino Bananas from Don Shores in 2002. Last year I also got a pair of Bananas from Don Shores. The male is a Chocolate Banana and the female (his sibling from the same clutch) is a Banana.

Next year I will be breeding the Chocolate Banana male to his sibling Banana and also to the Albino Banana.

Here is a pic of him after I got him last year.
