Early sleeping/resting

FisherCham20 Jun 30, 2004 04:34 AM

I few weeks ago I redid my chams cage, added in bigger better plants. More hiding places and climbing space. Since then he's been going to his sleeping spot about an hour or more before his lights out (8:45pm). His lights turn on at 7:45am (used to be later but I noticed he was up and around before then). Is this something I should be worried about? I can't tell if he's actually sleeping there since it takes me about 15 minutes just to find him in there and when I finally do (just from looking outside, I don't actually go poking around in there), he's awake. Any advice or thoughts would be great.

Funny, once I changed Luna's plant setup she also seems to go to her night spot early! It might be the density of foliage that she feels compfortable hiding for awhile before sleeping. I switched here ficus for a scheff. As soon as her MVB goes out she goes there. her basking light is still on for another hour or so but sometimes she will fall asleep even with it on. I thought she would adjust to Daylight savings like the rest of us but she is in her spot by 5:00 or 6:00 p.m.!

If he is doing everything else normal and not sleeping in the middle of the day I wouldn't worry about it.

just my 2 cents

It sounds like he is very relaxed in his new setup. He'll regulate his own sleeping pattern, and if you have trouble finding him in the cage it is perfect!
