the Grand Cayman captive breeding facility needs your help. In order to keep up with the demands of successful breeding and the weather the cages need to be upgraded, painted and landscaped.
July 30th to Aug 13th or any time in between. We are looking for motivated people with a little or a lot of skills building, pushing a rake, in the garden or you just want to help save the blue iguanas.
Also, accomodations will be free or very low cost. I have done this before on GC and I stayed on the 2nd floor of someones house. It wasn't bad. You will have lots of interaction with the iguanas both captive and the wild ones in the park.
There is a trip planned for Little Cayman to see the Caymanensis. You gotta get to Grand Cayman and pay for food and incidentals and the hop to Little Cayman.
I have done this before and its a lot of hot sweaty work but its for a good cause and fun. You will also learn a lot about cyclura and the conservation efforts, be on a tropical island and meet a bunch of people with similar interests.
When you see "Billy" come out of the weeds to say HI the trip is worth it. He is the biggest, bluest cyclura you will ever see!
Any interest in this, email me off line or go to cyclura.com. for more info
