lazy beardie? or slippery substrate?

cillie Jul 01, 2004 01:41 AM

my beardie stopped chasing her food, she either takes it from my hand or sits in one place in front of the crix bag and eats in one place. does she hate being on slippery plastic, and refuses to move, or is she just lazy cuz i hand fed her to much as a baby, please respond!!!!!!!!!!!!

If she tells you why you've got one amazing beardie!!

Seriously though, it could be one or even both of the reasons you stated. Sounds to me like she's a well fed beardie who's just happy to sit there and wait for her food to come to her.

i got her wheat bran for a substrate today, she is moving a little bit, and she ate more crix.

FYI, be careful with the wheat bran. Make sure it doesn't get wet.

FYI, one of my beardies is a big lazy fat lump on a log sometimes who doesn't put much effort into getting food. As long as I don't see anything that indicates a health problem I'm not worried about it. I weigh him when he gets into these lazy moods every day to make sure he's alright and so far it's just him being lazy. I do make sure to watch him very, very close when this kind of thing happens, though.
