That lady is nicely colored. The all black plastron is a nice touch, I consider it to be a positive in colorations. She also shows color on her rear legs, which is maybe not rare, but not the norm in females.

She's a nice looking gal, take good care of her.

Have you found and read my notes on palpating yet? If she's loaded (my term for a female with calcified eggs you can feel) and you realize what you are touching (works best if you palp an empty gal first) then you will never forget it.

*G* Yippy . i was hoing she really was what i thought she was .. i think shes a rather pretty girl ... i bet after a nice diet for a year or so she will look even better ..

Hmm does it feel like chicken eggs .. ( when i was in FFA i did two years of poultry judging .. and had to feel chickens up *lol* )

* ponders* of course chickens dont have shells either .. for a while im going to leave blaze be so she can get used to her environment .. she wasnt to happy about me digging her up to take her and give her a bath ( once she was in the bath she calmed down though ) i know digging her up might not have been the gratest thing to do but i wanted to make sure she was hydrated enough because i dont know how long the little boy had her with no water around or carrying her around in the hot sun .. so i let her soak a good while .. then took a few pics and then left her with some worms .. i think i will have to try meal worms because she didnt seem so interested in worms .. and i left her in a feeding container for an hour so i woudlnt have any more worms in her tub for now

nice looking boy there. I really appreciate the "shoulder" colors on the soft skin above the arms.

Don't worry about subspecies, etc. Easterns are easterns. They are the taxonomically labelled "species", with three-toeds, floridas, and gulf coasts being the "other" subspecies. That male would likely do fine for you.

between the two of them they should ahve pretty interesting babies i think ... very colorful im sure ..* crosses my fingers*
