Zoo med is great for returns, I have never had a problem. They do sometimes get broken in shipping, return it to the place you purchased it (U usually can for the first 30 days) If they won't take it back, which they should then call or email zoo med they will take it back. I think that they are relieable and a very well known company.

and they replaced it no questions asked (well, they asked a couple, but nothing malicious). It did take a couple weeks to get the replacement shipped, though.

The bulbs are hand made and have some flaws, but they are backing them up while they get the process problems straightened out. My understanding is that all of the self-ballasted MV bulbs have the same problem. I don't know about the others with standalone ballasts. I'd like to hear from anyone that's purchased one of the 60 watters. I'd like to have one but don't want to spend $90 or whatever it is to get started. Yikes!

I forgot to mention that you shouldn't touch the bulb with your bare hands. There's something about the oil on human skin that makes the bulb either burn out our not last as long. Just thought I'd add that titbit of info. Have a great weekend all!
