No. I always wear rubber gloves when I have to handle my frogs (during tank cleaning.)

You asked it they were fun to have, and they are, to most. It really depends on what you expect, the frog is usually very unactive. Mine only moves when he has taken a dump, and moves to a clean spot. I think they are fun, but just don't expect them to be very active, except when it's feeding time

do u own any other reptiles/amphibians ? if not the only down side i can see is that this a very inactive frog, mines is the same as mentions in the above post, it will spend upto a week in the exact same spot without moving until they go to the toilet.

also u wont be able to handle them much even with gloves, mines is visibly stress even by carefull handling !!!! i only ever handle when cleaning tank and i need to move him out

so it depends on ur patience i am perfectly happy with my frog that doesnt do much, but if ur looking for more interaction, activity and handleability a pac man may not be the best choice cos u might get bored, if like me u dont mind just observing and admiring from a distance then they are excellent !!!

i love mine... i have one. and i started going crazy and got a 2nd one...

as for handling, i just handle them with my barehands. but i wash them carefully with clean water. initially, both were afraid of me handling them. but now, they are fine with it. maybe because they are already used to it.

About handling--I also handle with my bare hands. I just make sure to rinse thoroughly with clean water, and leave my hands a little moist. Don't wash with soap, that's for after handling. Sometimes I use rubber gloves as well. I don't use the one's that have talcum powder on them--I haven't seen a post on it yet, but I'm pretty sure that's harmful to the frog.

It is believed that talc is an irritant to frog skin. If you use the gloves that have talc in/on them rinsing your hands after you put the glove on will remove the talc and wetting the glove makes it less irritating to the frog's skin.
