Albino bairdi - pictures

Krister Jul 01, 2004 11:23 AM

Hi all,

My first clutch of bairdi eggs hatched yesterday and today and two (out of five, a very small clutch from a small female) of the hatchlings turned out to be albinos. A very nice surprise, as I had expected nothing but normals.

Are these darlings getting any more common in the hobby?

Sincerely,
Krister

Congrats., Baird's are neat animal. BHB Enterprises (bhb@comcast.net) has been producing Albino Baird's for a few yrs. now. They are out there but it is very cool you were lucky enough to hatched some from normals!! A nice surprise & reward for your care.....

I really like working with the albino bairdi, and have some eggs incubating right now from them. Very nice looking baby though, and that is great that you had one hatch from normals that you didn't know were hets. Please post more pics of the babies as they shed. I'll attach an older pic of an adult albino i have here. Congrats again!!!

Have a good weekend,

Gregg F.
