I haven't been able to find a lot of information about species accounts from this area. I know what Peterson's Field Guide says is out there, but I was wondering if anyone else has spent any time looking for snakes out there. Looks like an awesome, virtually undisturbed habitat, which is hard to come by in North Carolina.

The species I'm looking for specifically are eastern milks and corn snakes. I know the milk snakes are found out there, but I'm interested to know how common they are. I haven't seen any records of corns from that area, although there are records from Marion, which is not too far from Linville Gorge.

Thanks,
Michael
