What's a good spacious size "hog house"?

MountainLyon Jul 01, 2004 04:42 PM

Would a 72"x24"x17.5" boaphile cage with shelf be stylin spacious digs for a breeding size hog? Would it likely use the shelf, or would the shorter 11.5" tall cage make more sense? Or something else?

What do you keep your hogs or similar size boas in?

Don't have a hog yet, but I recently asked if a 48x24x18 would be good for a male hog and the responses were a resounding 'yes'. I've also been told they utilize and enjoy the height so that's why I was going with the 18" high boaphile.

vertical structure. Since I'll probably keep breeders I figure a little more room is in order. The space I have will fit a 6' cage about as well as a 5'. I like the looks of the 6' with the two 3' sections. I guess the 5' with the hide box looks ok, the rest of them seem out of balance to me. If I get 2 or 3 snakes in 6' cages the price of everything goes through the roof! Selling some clutches a few years down the road would sure make it worthwhile though.
