I went and got shelf liner, lol it doesnt say "shelf liner" it just says liner on the label, like for inside draws and stuff and shelves i guess lol. is it normal for it to sort of have that rubbery smell?? lol i cut it a little too short but o well its only off by like half an inch. The only problem i found is that its not great for bracing driftwood and such, having trouble tryin to set the driftwook to wear it is stable and reaches high enough for her to get enough heat and uvb. Could some of you send me some full cage pics w/ shelf liner in them so i can kind of see how yall set it up?? sorry so many questions

thanx

best brand of shelf liner is by the duck brand, only place i've seen it is at walmart, i've used other brands and all of them really suck comparded to the ones duck makes, but yea, just my opinion

In this pic I used a piece of plexi wrapped in the liner as a basking slope, also creating a hide under the board for shade and temp gradient. In this pic I was in the process of changing back to fluorescent lights and needed the extra height the slope offered to get them as close as possible to the bulb. The slope is anchored by a slate stone that is flat against it holding it in place. Most of my cages are designed something like this with the slope/hide, and dual fluorescent fixtures that run 3/4 the length of the cages.

In this pic I was using mercury vapor bulbs so I could get away with them basking a bit lower to the ground, so this is just drift wood again with the stone under it bracing the pieces against the sides. In the far corner that wood piece was large enough and sat perfect no need for a stone at the base of it.

If your using a glass tank they make reptile hammocks that work great at getting them up near the UVB lights. Design it that the hammock is the basking spot too, and the dragon will spent a lot of it's time sunning in reach of the uvb bulbs.
